Chadwick B. Albano
Executive Director
Biography
With 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Chad Albano is an independent Investment Adviser Representative (IAR) as well as Executive Director with Global View Capital Advisors. He serves on the advisory group of Global View Capital Advisors as part of its leadership team and he is a shareholder in Global View Capital Partners.
In his capacity as an IAR with Global View Capital Advisors (an SEC-registered RIA (Registered Investment Advisory) firm), Chad is able to work with clients in all 50 states. He holds his Series 65 registration as well as life/health insurance licenses in multiple states.
Chad’s mission in his career is to make a difference. “In my 20 years in the industry, I’ve witnessed the impact and the sincere gratitude our clients have shown when we’ve done something that is not only relevant to them, but is making a difference in their lives. In my work, it’s not just about investing and into which products you place clients in, it’s giving them that clarity and the assurance that they (and/or their family) are going to be okay. I’ve always prided myself on always ‘being there’ for my clients, and one key area we focus on is the overall client experience. When I’m one of the first ones to get a call when there’s a significant event in my clients’ life, that’s a tremendous honor. In fact, the sincere appreciation I have received is an absolute honor, and it’s humbling to be in a position where what I do and recommend can have such implication in my clients’ lives. They’re trusting me as person, and that’s not something I take for granted,” he says.
Chad earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. Prior to joining Global View, Chad had over 10 years’ experience in corporate finance and accounting roles for two multi-billion-dollar companies. His duties ranged from tax and financial reporting and planning, to distribution and manufacturing. One of the proud achievements for Chad in his former career was having passed the Uniform CPA Exam on his first attempt back in 1999. Although he elected not to pursue the CPA designation, his background, degree, and knowledge enable him to help clients with tax planning services in conjunction with their tax professionals.
Regarding his role at Global View Capital Advisors, Chad says, “The clients we serve are largely individuals, families and people getting ready to retire, but we also work with companies and business owners. Helping corporate leadership teams is just another extension of what we do best: Comprehensive planning. In the business arena, our business planning services go well beyond qualified retirement plans. I have found that my background in corporate finance and accounting is really helpful, especially in this space.”
In his work as a financial advisor, Chad has three main areas of focus: 1) Holistic financial planning for individuals and families, including retirement planning for Baby Boomers and pre-retirees, 2) Helping companies improve their 401(k) while protecting plan sponsors and trustees from fiduciary liability, and 3) Working with companies to come up with succession planning and advanced planning designs that focus on helping management teams fill the gaps in succession planning, key person protection, executive incentive plans and employee retention planning.
“At our core, we believe in a mission of helping “Design, Grow and Protect” the personal economies of families from all over the world. We do this primarily by giving our client access to active and tactical management, which provides a defensive component to their accounts. This is a BIG one, especially after the year we had in the markets last year and the on-going concerns today. This way of managing money is often only reserved for affluent investors, but through our technology and platform, we’re able to help those who really need this, who are otherwise precluded from it simply because of a lack of substantial net worth.”
“Active and tactical management, coupled with innovative protected index accounts, can really position clients better in the long run. But before we even get to the solutions, first we need to plan. So, in my opinion, the biggest value-add we provide is the comprehensive, holistic fiduciary-based planning we provide. The reason for this is that it’s not just about investing. Each person’s life is made up of two distinct phases: Accumulation, then distribution during retirement. Helping clients navigate those two phases is what we do in our work for individuals and families.”
— Chad Albano
Chad lives in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and is married to his best friend, biggest supporter and business partner, Nicole Albano. The Albano’s have been married for over two decades and have two teenage daughters, Isabella and Olivia. Chad was born and raised in Cebu City, Philippines until age 14, when he moved to the United States to finally be with his parents after not seeing them for 10 years. This huge move was to Waukesha, Wisconsin, where he enrolled in the 8th grade. A year later, in the 9th grade, he met his future wife and business partner, Nicole Albano, and the rest is history.
Faith in God plays a key role and serves as a moral foundation in Chad’s life. He values continued learning and growing, mentoring, cultivating others, and public speaking. He enjoys working out, personal defense training, fishing, and running with his dog, Bentley, a Portuguese Water Dog. One of his greatest joys is family time spent outdoors, whether camping or just hanging out in their backyard/pool oasis.
Business Philosophy:
Being placed in a trusted position by my clients is both a privilege and responsibility. In my years of helping clients, I have found that the common need–whether the clients are millionaires, business owners, or those just getting help for the first time–is for education. The need for clarity, assurance, and good information that is pertinent to each client’s particular financial situation is something I see lacking across the board.
Therefore, my philosophy has always been to first, be present with them and really listen deeply, and then empower, provide, and better equip clients with the education and financial principles that will help them make better decisions with respect to their own financial situation. I then provide the guidance along the way as well as access to the solutions that may fit their particular needs. In the end, I strive to always make it a win-win with my clients and value cultivating a long-term relationship with each of them.
Being present means it’s not about me, it’s about them. And it’s not about net worth either; whatever a client has is what’s important to them and to me. Being present and meeting clients where they are, then inspiring them to arrive at their own decisions that allow them to stick with their own plan is how they’ll succeed for the long-term. So, I’ve learned to really get at the ‘heart level’ for most of my clients. It’s a real conversation, starting first with their ‘whys’ (what’s in their heart) and then we support it with logic—our guidance and solutions to bridge that gap.
